Start of mainline welding in Northern Iraq

In July 2025, 5C-Tech was awarded its first international project as a provider of welding services in the field of pipeline pre-construction by the client Vemak Insaat from Turkey. The 65 km long and 36" Kormor-Chemchemal pipeline is located in Kurdistan in northern Iraq. In August, 5C-Tech mobilised a complete range of automatic welding equipment, consisting of 4 x PX-II double-torch welding stations together with a beveling machine and internal centring, as well as a stock of spare parts, consumables and welding wire for the completion of 5,000 pre-construction welds. A team of 5C-Tech service engineers on site is responsible for maintaining the equipment and the overall performance of the automatic welding machine.

In October, the production rate exceeded 1 km per day, with up to 87 welds per day. We plan to complete welding of the main line by the end of November.

This first international project, carried out under difficult conditions with ambient temperatures reaching 47 °C in September, demonstrates the solid performance of the 5C-Tech welding machines and the professionalism of the team.
